Army Chief Pays Tribute To Officer Killed In Kashmir Avalanche
Army chief Bipin Rawat paid tribute to Major Amit Sagar who died in an avalanche in Kashmir on January 25. He blamed climate change and heavy shelling by Pakistani troops for triggering the avalanches. Use of heavy weapons by Pakistani troops during ceasefire violations had triggered them, he said.
