The LPG and milk price hikes are just the latest in a series of food items that have become costlier in the last few months. Unfortunately for many of India's poor, including those who live in urban clusters, the timing of these hikes has coincided with a downturn in income because of Covid-induced restrictions. This means less food on the plate and also a change in eating habits.
