As panic-stricken Afghans gathered at the airport to flee the war-torn country, India said it would "facilitate repatriation to India of those who wish to leave Afghanistan". India has been evacuating its citizens as well as some Afghan nationals since Taliban started advancing as US and NATO forces withdrew. United Nations Security Council met on Monday under the presidency of India to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in Afghanistan that intensified further with the takeover of Kabul by the Taliban.
