The Election Commission has announced the dates for the last round of assembly elections - to be held in five states ahead of next year's Lok Sabha elections. They will begin on November 12 and continue till December 7. Seen as the bellwether for next year's elections, the five include BJP-ruled heartland states of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, Congress-ruled Mizoram and southern state Telangana.
