Former Union Secretary for Urban Development Sudhir Krishna says that there's no option but to preserve floodplains to avoid more damaging floods in Delhi. He said people from floodplains have to be removed and adds that they should be given rehabilitation under schemes such as the PM Awas Yojana. He added that the Government has enough resources to clear the floodplains, but proper planning is needed.
