84-Year-Old Activist Stan Swamy Dies In Hospital Waiting For Bail, Other Top Stories

Stan Swamy, an 84-year-old priest-activist arrested under an anti-terror law in the Elgar Parishad case last year, died on Monday in the middle of his fight for bail on health grounds. The Jesuit priest had been on a ventilator since Sunday when his health took a sharp turn for the worse. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi today as the party makes desperate attempts to resolve his feud with Navjot Singh Sidhu and end infighting ahead of polls in the state next year. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to rationalize the syllabus for the academic session 2021-22 for Classes 10 and 12. The board exams for the 2021 batch will be held in two terms with 50 per cent syllabus in each term.
