NEET Stress: Economic And Mental Cost Of Re-test

NEET UG is the biggest exam in India in terms of the sheer number of students who attempt the test. Every year hundreds of thousands of bright young minds prepare for months and months to be able to attempt the exam. But NEET UG 2026 was cancelled within days of being held, and a retest was announced by the government. More than 2 million aspirants will have to appear again for this examination, if they want admission to any medical college in the country. But the stress and strain on many of them is huge. What about their risk of mental, emotional, and at times even financial trauma? Will all of them be able to take the retest?
