NDTV Masterstroke Art Awards Long Overdue On A National Platform: Dr. Godrej
Renowned art historian, curator and Founder of Cymroza Art Gallery, Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej opened up about the rigorous and challenging process behind selecting winners for the NDTV Masterstroke Art Awards. Speaking as a member of the jury, Dr. Godrej admitted that judging art is never simple, as tastes and perspectives naturally differ. She described the deliberations as intense and highly objective, with jury members carefully rating and ranking nominees across multiple categories. Thanking NDTV for launching what she called a “long overdue” national platform for recognising artistic excellence, Dr. Godrej praised the awards as an important new landmark in India’s cultural calendar. She also commended the thoughtful design of the awards, including the involvement of celebrated sculptor Radha Krishnan in creating the trophy.
