Mylan sues US FDA to block Lipitor launch by Ranbaxy

US pharmaceutical company Mylan Inc has sued the US Foods and Drugs Administration, seeking to block Ranbaxy's exclusive rights to sell a generic version of Pfizer's cholesterol pill Lipitor, the world’s best-selling medicine. Lipitor, which clocks $7 billion in US alone is owned by Pfizer and is going offpatent in November 2011.
