Mukul Rohatgi Backs Vijay’s Claim, Says Governor Should Have Invited TVK To Form Govt

Senior advocate and former Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi has strongly backed Vijay’s claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu. Rohatgi said constitutional convention requires the Governor to first invite the single-largest party, even if it falls short of a majority. He argued Vijay should have been given time to gather support and warned against President’s Rule or fresh elections. Rohatgi also criticised the Governor for allegedly acting beyond constitutional norms by demanding immediate proof of majority support.
