While urban areas often enjoy a disproportionate abundance of resources, the lack of basic amenities like footwear, clothing and sanitation is a common feature in several parts of rural India. Stepping up to bridge this divide are India's startups who doing all kinds of things -- right from bringing low-cost, refurbished computers to under-served areas to distributing footwear to children in villages.
