In this exclusive interview with NDTV's Tejshree Purandare, Deepak Mittal, India’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, spoke about the situation facing the Indian community amid the ongoing Middle East conflict. Mittal said the situation remains challenging but emphasised that there is no panic among Indians in the UAE. He noted that the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi activated 24/7 helplines after airspace closures and has been coordinating with airlines and local authorities to ensure assistance and safe travel for Indian nationals. The envoy also said the Indian community has expressed confidence in the UAE government and its alert systems. He added that the crisis is unprecedented for residents in the UAE and that Indian authorities remain in constant touch with local officials. He also confirmed that Narendra Modi spoke with the UAE President, while External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held discussions with his UAE counterpart to coordinate efforts.
