Maldives MPs Punch, Kick Each Other Inside Parliament

Leaders of the ruling party and the Opposition in the Maldives came to blows today inside the parliament of the island nation. Reports said the fight broke out following disagreements over approving pro-China President Mohamed Muizzu’s new cabinet. Many leaders were angry over Mr Muizzu’s “anti-India policies”. The Opposition is seen as wary of China’s growing influence in the archipelago, and considers India a big partner in development.
