Maharashtra Teen Dies by Suicide; Family Blames Hindi-Marathi Train Assault
A 19-year-old college student from Kalyan, Arnav Khaire, died by suicide days after he was allegedly assaulted in a local train during an argument over speaking Hindi. His family claims Arnav was deeply traumatised by the incident and had been withdrawn and disturbed since the attack. The parents allege that the mental distress from this Hindi-Marathi language dispute pushed him to take the extreme step, sparking outrage and questions over rising linguistic intolerance in Maharashtra.
