The Karnataka government has announced a fresh caste census that will cost Rs 425 crore. Approximately 1.65 lakh enumerators will be deployed to cover around two crore households. This survey is a key initiative spearheaded by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
