Israelis Continue To Pressure Netanyahu Government To End Gaza War
Israeli protesters demonstrated in Tel Aviv on May 17 blocking roads and making speeches calling for an end to the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of the remaining hostages. Israel and Hamas resumed ceasefire talks on in Qatar, both sides said, but Israeli forces have also ramped up a bombing campaign that has killed hundreds of people over 72 hours, and mobilized for a massive new ground assault. Israel's military said it was conducting extensive strikes and mobilising troops with the aim of achieving "operational control" in parts of Gaza.
