Airstrikes lit up the night sky over Beirut on Tuesday as Israel intensified its military operations in Lebanon. The Israeli military said it was targeting the financial arm of Hezbollah, known as al-Qard al-Hasan, in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Israel also said its ground forces launched “focused raids” in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah claimed it struck Israeli troops and fired rockets toward northern Israel. Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch accused Israel of using white phosphorus in strikes on a Lebanese village, alleging violations of international law.
