A political fight that has erupted over the Congress manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh elections, which promises to pass laws to ban government premises from being used for RSS shakhas, as well as banning government servants from membership of the RSS. There is a history to this: At least on two occasions in the past, Congress governments in Madhya Pradesh barred government servants from membership of the RSS. The ban extended to organisations such as Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamic Sevak Sangh, VHP and Bajrang Dal. The Congress says they will restore the ban if it comes to power , arguing that the RSS is political. The BJP says this demonstrates the Congress is anti-Hindu. Tonight on Reality Check we ask is Congress Threat of Clampdown on RSS legal or political?
