Fire Spreads From Textile Market To Bus Stand In Kozhikode, People Evacuated

A huge fire broke out at a textile shopping hub near the city bus stand at Kozhikode on Sunday at 5 pm. Several fire engines were pressed into service, according to fire and rescue officials. Swift action from the authorities and locals ensured the evacuation of people from the vicinity, while all buses parked at the stand were moved to safety. Shops operating at the bus stand complex were immediately closed as fire and rescue personnel, along with local residents, launched efforts to bring the flames under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. No casualties have been reported so far.
