In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Columbia University professor and economist Jeffrey Sachs weighed in on whether recent tensions between the United States, Israel and Iran could escalate further. Responding to questions about Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and potential retaliation, Sachs dismissed the notion that Washington could quickly overthrow the Iranian government, despite comments from U.S. officials about regime change. He noted that Iran's geographic size, population and historical awareness of U.S. intentions make it far more resilient than other states previously targeted by U.S. policies, such as Venezuela, where an exfiltration of leadership was claimed.
