India has lodged a strong diplomatic protest with the United States after a series of attacks on commercial vessels off the coast of Oman impacted Indian seafarers. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned US Chargé d'Affaires Jason Meeks, with the matter being raised by the Additional Secretary (Americas). This marks the second time the US mission has been called in over the issue. The latest incident involved a vessel carrying 20 Indian crew members that came under attack, further escalating concerns over maritime security in the region. The development comes amid growing outrage after three Indian seafarers, who were initially reported missing following an earlier strike, were confirmed dead. India has emphasized the need to protect commercial shipping routes and ensure the safety of Indian nationals working at sea as tensions continue to rise in the region.
