India-EU FTA | “Assam Tea Set To Reach Europe After India-EU Deal”: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the India–EU Free Trade Agreement will bring major economic benefits to Assam, especially Dibrugarh, by opening vast European markets for Assam tea. Addressing a public gathering, Shah said the agreement will allow tea produced in Assam to be exported to all 27 European Union countries with zero tariff. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened massive development and economic opportunities for Dibrugarh and paved the way for Assam tea to reach European cities like Paris and Berlin. The trade deal is expected to significantly boost exports, expand global market access, and improve earnings for tea growers across the region.
