Royal Enfield has launched its much awaited Himalayan in Mumbai instead of Delhi, the capital city where RE generally holds most of its product debuts. The reason being that the Indian government has announced that all the new two-wheelers to be launched in the national capital must abide by the BS IV norms. The bike is however available in the NCR region, and Royal Enfield has promised to develop a BSIV compliant engine for Himalayan by April, 2016 so that the bike can make its way to Delhi as well.
