Heatwave Sweeps North India as Temperatures Soar Past 45°C
In India, the heat wave has intensified as temperatures soared across the northern plains on Thursday. The India Meteorological Department forecast maximum temperatures of around 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit) in the capital, New Delhi, where authorities have opened temporary “cooling zones” to help people cope.
