Hantavirus Updates | "Captain Blamed First Death...": Passenger Recalls Hantavirus Outbreak At Sea

A former passenger on the cruise ship hit by a hantavirus outbreak said safety precautions were introduced late on board the vessel and that the crew should have acted earlier. "These kind of cautions are taking place, but they are late. So, I wish that we were quicker to respond," said Turkish internet blogger Runi Cenet. Cenet said he left the MV Hondius on April 24 with 28 other passengers without taking any precautions or being told anything about the virus. "It was very shocking because we were on board with these people for 24 days straight. We had relationships, so I knew these people and I'm very sad that they're going through this human crisis," Cenet said.
