Gomi was married to an opium addict at the age of 15. She wanted to study but his refused. Despite insisting, her father allowed her to study only till 2nd standard to learn how to write her name. She was forced to drop out from her school and help her mother at home. At the age of 15 she was married and at 16 she had her first child. She had faced a lot at this young age and had to look for work. Then she got to know about the Usha Silai School programme. After enrollment, she completed her seven day training and opened her own school. Now she is earning 3000-5000 rupees a month and has been able to fund her husband's rehabilitation.
