You've probably seen and enjoyed Top Gun: Maverick, which came out in theatres in 2022. But did you know the film's mind-boggling flight sequences were filmed practically instead of taking the CGI route? The team behind one of the most thrilling action films of the past few years managed to fit six IMAX cameras inside the cockpits of the fighter jets. And get external shots, they mounted up to four cameras on a single jet, equipping the belly, the wings and the nose to get the epic shots of the jets engaged in action. And to add to the realism, the actors really did experience the same intense G-forces that fighter pilots do, as well.
