From Grassroots To Global Cricket: Jay Shah Explains His Journey

ICC Chairman Jay Shah, who received the 'Transformational Leader of the Year' award at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2025, spoke to NDTV about his management philosophy and leadership journey. Shah said leadership is learned gradually by starting from the grassroots rather than jumping straight to the top. Recalling his journey since 2009, he said he began as an ordinary member of the Ahmedabad Cricket Board and gained hands-on experience over 16 years. He also highlighted his direct involvement in the construction of the Narendra Modi Stadium, describing it as the world's largest sports stadium, completed in a record two-and-a-half years.
