There is hope for the seven ex-Indian Navy officers and one sailor who are on death row in Qatar on charges of espionage, charges that they have completely denied. The External Affairs Ministry has now said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Emir of Qatar on the sidelines of the Climate Change Summit in Dubai recently. The two leaders had a good discussion on the overall bilateral relationship, which included a conversation about the well-being of the Indian community, presumably including the Navy men as well.
