There appears to be no end to the controversy over the killing of 20 men by the Andhra Pradesh police in a forest clearing two weeks ago. The police claim the men were part of a gang of red sandalwood smugglers who attacked a police team, leaving it with no choice but to retaliate. But the testimonies of three eyewitnesses who claim to have survived the massacre, have blasted holes in that theory. Now, in their first ever TV interview, the three men spoke to NDTV from a safehouse in Madurai, describing in detail how the police allegedly abducted their friends and family as they entered Andhra Pradesh.
