As the showdown between the government and judges escalates over who should appoint the judges, former Delhi high court judge Justice RS Sodhi told NDTV that the collegium system is unconstitutional and a more transparent system to appoint judges is needed. Justice Sodhi, whose views on collegium were tweeted by law minister Kiren Rijiju, also added that the judges have grabbed the right to appoint themselves.
