Exclusive: Ladakh To Get Elected Body, Article 371 Safeguards | NDTV With Ladakh Chief Secretary
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Ladakh Chief Secretary Asish Kundra says the Centre has initiated the process to provide constitutional safeguards to Ladakh under Article 371. Kundra says Parliament will amend Article 371 to provide adequate constitutional safeguards, while an elected body will be established to govern the Union Territory under a sui generis model. The proposed framework would mark a new governance model for Ladakh, according to the Chief Secretary.
