Doctor Assault Case: Shiv Sena Corporator Ramesh Mhatre Granted Bail

Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre has been granted bail in the doctor assault case linked to an attack on doctors and hospital staff at the KDMC-run Shastri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli. Earlier, the Kalyan Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) had remanded four accused, including Mhatre, to judicial custody till July 24. The hearing was conducted via video conferencing after police cited security concerns and informed the court that a large number of Mhatre's supporters had gathered outside the court premises. The court permitted the accused to be produced virtually following the police request.
