Delhi Building | After Satya Niketan Collapse, Delhi Proposes Mandatory Licences For All PGs

Delhi is proposing tighter rules for paying guest accommodations after the Satya Niketan building collapse raised serious concerns over student safety. The proposed framework includes mandatory licences for all PGs, a three-month deadline to obtain them, a cap of three months' rent on security deposits, area-wise rent limits and night guards for PGs housing more than 12 students. The key question remains whether these rules will bring real accountability and safety for Delhi's students.
