Europe is getting ready for its own big cricket party. The continent will now have its first-ever franchise-based T20 tournament – the European T20 Premier League – set to begin on August 26. The six-team competition has some serious star power behind it. Bollywood actor and sports entrepreneur Abhishek Bachchan has come on board as co-owner of the league, while former Australian captain Steve Waugh is co-owner of the Amsterdam franchise. Big international names are already lining up to play – with Steve Smith, Mitch Marsh and Glenn Maxwell among those confirmed to feature in the inaugural season.
