WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan in an interview to NDTV talks about boosting India's vaccination drive. Asked how important the development of a single dose nasal vaccine would be, particularly for countries like India which have a huge population burden and are racing against time to vaccinate as many as possible, she said: "Oral vaccine or nasal vaccine that can be given by spray would be better. It will have the advantage of creating immunity in the upper respiratory tract and it might work well in preventing infections."
