India is now reporting over 40 cases of the Delta plus variant. The strain is now in nine countries, US, UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, Poland, Russia and China besides India. Like the Delta variant, the Delta Plus is also considered highly infectious and may show resistance to existing treatment protocol for Covid. There are concerns over the efficacy of vaccines against the Delta Plus variant. NDTV speaks to experts on whether the spread of the Delta Plus variant could trigger India's third wave?
