On protest over passing of Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar & Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025, Congress MP Manish Tiwari said, “It is very unfortunate that the name of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who led the freedom movement of the country, has been dropped from MGNREGA. An attempt has been made to create an artificial differentiation between Lord Ram and Mahatma Gandhi; there can be nothing more unfortunate and condemnable than this."
