Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, speaking to NDTV, questioned how Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is able to "defy" the Congress high command if there truly was no power-sharing deal with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. He said only a handful of top leaders know what agreement was made, but the ongoing infighting itself proves that a pact exists. Shettar added that if everything was fine, DK Shivakumar should publicly state that Siddaramaiah will continue for five years - something he has not done. He called the current truce a "stopgap arrangement" to get through the December 8 Assembly session and said the Congress high command has grown "very weak," allowing the crisis to deepen and ultimately hurting Karnataka.
