Congress Faces Setback As MDMK Backs Pinarayi Vijayan Govt In Kerala
The Congress party faces fresh political embarrassment as ally Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) distances itself in Kerala. Party chief Vaiko stated that while the MDMK maintains a friendship with Congress, it believes the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M)-led government under Pinarayi Vijayan will return to power in Kerala. The development comes after recent remarks by senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, adding to signs of strain within the opposition camp.
