The Centre has rejected opposition allegations over the proposed Viksit Bharat-GRAM Bill, which seeks to replace the MGNREGA law. Union Minister SP Singh Baghel told NDTV that changes to MGNREGA are absolutely necessary to meet future needs, arguing that even the Constitution undergoes amendments from time to time. While the Congress has accused the government of undermining a key welfare scheme, the Centre has justified the move as a reform-driven decision.
