Chidambaram Calls New Constitutional Bill 'Unnecessary', Flags Delimitation Concerns

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram has alleged that the BJP is planning to reintroduce a Constitutional Amendment Bill that failed in Parliament earlier this year. He argued that the 106th Constitutional Amendment already provides for women’s reservation and claimed that a fresh bill is unnecessary, alleging its real objective is to facilitate delimitation. The BJP has rejected the allegations, maintaining that delimitation is a constitutional process aimed at ensuring fair representation.
