As flight delays and cancellations across IndiGo's network continued for the eighth straight day, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has ordered the airline to curtail operations by 10 per cent while ensuring that all destinations remain covered.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu updated Parliament on the Centre's action over the disruptions, assuring strict action against the airline. He said IndiGo had earlier assured full compliance, but its subsequent operational failures led to widespread delays and cancellations.
Earlier in the day, aviation watchdog DGCA cut IndiGo's winter flight schedule by 5 per cent, saying the airline was unable to efficiently handle its operations.
