Virgin Mobile to make debut in 3G services

Virgin Mobile, part of Richard Branson's $24-billion diversified Virgin Group, is planning to expand into 3rd generation (3G) services that comes under GSM system apart from the existing CDMA service. 3G systems provide enhanced services such as voice, text and data. Focussing primarily on India youth, Virgin Mobile India has a franchisee tie-up with Tata Teleservices, which is one of the top CDMA operators in India.
