Retailers offer easy finance options to woo customers

It is the peak of the Indian summer - a time when consumers generally rush to their nearest store to upgrade their fridges, air conditioners and water coolers, anything to keep them cool. But this year they may have to bear the heat a bit more, as banks including ICICI, GE Money and CitiFinancial cut back on direct financing for consumer durable products, thus, forcing consumers to think twice about buying that super-cooling air conditioner.
