State-owned LIC has bid for 40 crore shares of the 42.77 crore shares in the ONGC auction, according to sources. "We saw a huge buying opportunity in a blue chip stock and went ahead aggressively with the bids at an attractive valuation," LIC sources told NDTV early on Friday, the day after the ONGC auction.
