Mixed bag for the FMCG sector

The Indian fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) verdict is out and the feelings are mixed. While Godrej has managed to emerge with flying colours it is the big daddy in FMCG sector Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) that has been a disappointment. Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GPCL) sales stood above expectations at Rs 272 crore, while HUL sales disappointed with a marginal increase of 19.12 per cent at Rs 3793.94 crore on a year-on-year basis.
