I-T Dept slaps Vodafone with Rs. 11,218 cr tax demand

Indian tax authorities have asked Vodafone to pay over Rs 11,217.95 crore as tax. Of this pay out, around Rs 7,000 crore would be the tax component and the rest in form of interest for delayed payment. Supreme Court had asked the tax department to determine by October 25 the potential tax liability over the deal.
