Subhrakant Panda, vice president of the industry body FICCI, called the Union Budget "a very comprehensive" one. "Once in a century calls for a unique kind of a budget where you can be constrained by fiscal deficit norms. And, from the point of view, to acknowledge that at the beginning to say that the fiscal deficit for 2020-21 is 9.5 per cent and to then have a progressive, calibrated coming back to normalcy is exactly what we had been advocating for," he said.
