A young, unarmed jawan of the Border Security Force was shot dead by terrorists on Wednesday evening when he and his family resisted their attempt to kidnap him. The terrorists opened fire at his family too, injuring four of them including a woman relative. Constable Mohammad Ramzan Parray, 31, died on the spot. The BSF constable was deployed with the border-guarding force's 73rd battalion and had come home in Bandipora district on a vacation a few days earlier. Md Ramzan had joined the force, which is primarily deployed along India's border with Pakistan and Bangladesh, six years ago.
